Vinayagar (also spelled Vinayaka or known as Ganesha) is one of the most widely worshipped deities in Hinduism. He is revered as the remover of obstacles, the god of beginnings, and the patron of arts and sciences, intellect, and wisdom.
Elephant Head: Vinayagar is most easily recognized by his elephant head, symbolizing wisdom, strength, and a calm nature. There are several legends about how he got his elephant head, most famously when Shiva beheaded him and later replaced it with an elephant's.
